Niche Group Qualification 2020

Niche Group Members will enjoy all the privileges of the program until December 31, 2020. (Re) qualify for the Niche Group program in 2021, through your spending in calendar year 2020. In acknowledgement of Club closure and reduced services during the Circuit Breaker, the General Committee has approved the application of a multiplier factor of 1.25 to be applied to calendar year 2020 spending when determining this year’s Niche Group qualifying spend. Every $1 spent in calendar year 2020 will count as $1.25 of qualifying spend. This will be reflected from your August statement of account. This means that, if your year-to-date spend as at August 31 is $6,000, it will be reflected as $7,500 of qualifying spend on your August statement of account.

The qualifying threshold for the 10K, 15K and Elite (20K) programs remain unchanged at $10,000, $15,000 and $20,000 respectively. The cut-off date for qualifying is December 31, 2020.

We are SG Clean Certified

[UPDATED] August 6, 2020

The American Club Singapore is one of the first few clubs in Singapore to be certified SG Clean. An initiative launched by the National Environment Agency (NEA), the SG Clean campaign aims to instill a national “keep clean culture”, which requires members of the public and organizations to practice good hygiene and social responsibility.

One of the marks of an SG Clean premise is the SG Clean quality mark. It is a premises-based sanitation and hygiene indicator which requires businesses to commit to sector-specific sanitation and a set of hygiene checklists.

It includes:
- Appointing a SG Clean manager.
- Proper documentations of preventive measures.
- Ensuring procedures are in place to manage COVID-19 suspect cases.
- Conducting temperature checks on Staff and Members entering the Club daily.
For the full checklist, check out SG Clean.

Since The American Club’s reopening on 19 June 2020, it has amped up its cleaning and sanitizing routines. Together with the checklist from SG Clean, The Club has implemented preventive measures.

Actions like:

- Equipping areas with Quaternary Ammonium Compounds (QAC)-based alcohol sanitizers.
- Wiping down all surfaces, high-touch areas and furniture every 30 minutes.
- Using industry-standard portable electrostatic sprayers for cleaning.
- Monitoring the pool’s water quality on a daily basis.

- Furnishing the Gym with anti-bacterial wipes for members to disinfect the machines, weights and exercise mats, immediately after use.

The Club’s Acting General Manager, Ms Patricia Au, said ‘Passing the SG Clean assessment is a stamp of assurance and our promise to our Members, to uphold good sanitation and hygiene practices in The Club. Together with our Members, we will continue to maintain a safe and clean space for everyone.’
