About the Speaker
Priya Subberwal, a certified Classical Feng Shui practitioner with a background in interior design, began exploring Chinese Metaphysics in 2000. Her passion led to formal studies in 2007 and the founding of Disha in 2016. Guided by the Sanskrit term Dishadhara (direction), Priya applies Feng Shui principles to help others achieve balance and focus, a mission inspired by her own transformative journey and dedication to supporting others.

Wuxia, or “martial heroes,” is a cornerstone of Chinese literature, blending action with themes of honor, morality, and resilience. Emerging in the Tang Dynasty and flourishing through writers like Jin Yong (Louis Cha), wuxia reflects Chinese codes of loyalty. This talk explores wuxia archetypes and concludes with a comparison to American counterparts, including the cowboy westerns epitomized by characters like Clint Eastwood’s The Man with No Name.

Virginia Cha, an esteemed innovation educator at the National University of Singapore (NUS), serves as Program Director for Asia’s pioneering life transition initiative, the NUS Distinguished Senior Fellowship Programme (DSFP). Tailored for senior executives, this program empowers participants to navigate their post-professional journey with purpose and impact. This talk is an excerpt of one of the Culture electives in the DSFP programme.
