Chosen Title: Ghost Cities by Siang Lu

Ghost Cities by Siang Lu is a darkly witty, metafictional novel that explores modern China’s rapid development, digital illusions, and history through parallel timelines – from a translator in Sydney to an ancient emperor’s court. Inspired by China’s real “ghost cities,” the story blends myth, technology, and identity, questioning reality and meaning in a constructed world.
