Superstars of the Super Bowl

The Super Bowl Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award is presented each year to the standout performer of the Super Bowl, the National Football League’s (NFL) championship game. Established in 1967, this prestigious honor has been a tradition since the game's inception.

What is the Super Bowl MVP?
The Super Bowl MVP is awarded to the standout player in the championship game, regardless of their regular-season performance. If a player shines in the Super Bowl, they could earn the title, exclusive to the final game of the NFL season. Unlike the NFL MVP, Super Bowl MVP odds are only available once the final teams are determined.

Who Decides the Super Bowl MVP?
The Super Bowl MVP voting panel consists of 16 NFL writers and broadcasters, whose votes make up 80% of the decision. The remaining 20% comes from a fan vote during the fourth quarter on the NFL's website or app. Voters are required to choose a player from the winning team, but media panel members can revise their selection after the game ends.
