Cataract, glaucoma and retinal diseases are the leading causes of blindness in the world. In Singapore, more than 30% of people above 45 years of age have some degree of cataract, and by the time they reach 60 years old, 90% of them would have contracted cataract.
Advances in eye disease treatment have significantly improved the success and safety of treating these common blinding eye diseases. Newer intraocular lens technology allow improved visual outcomes and can correct all forms of refractive error in the eye, including myopia (short-sightedness), astigmatism and presbyopia. This allows people to achieve better vision, better quality of life and greater convenience without the need for spectacles.
Join us to learn about common eye problems and the latest advancements in eye disease treatment.
