Join us in learning how a Singaporean family took on the challenge of conserving an unspoiled land of otherworldly beauty and ancient tribes. They took custody of its conservancy by renovating and relaunching a safari lodge, while navigating cultural differences and tribal dynamics.

Nestled within the vast Ol Lentille conservancy, Lentille Lodge stands as a small yet opulent safari destination. Here, the conservancy belongs to the pastoralist Maasai and Samburu communities, who actively supports the cause of wildlife preservation and, in return, reap the benefits of tourism.

About the Speakers
Andre Cohen and Laura Yung are long-time Members of The American Club who left a traditional corporate life to dedicate themselves to conservation in East Africa. They acquired Ol Lentille lodge in 2021, and embarked on a major transformation, injecting a contemporary Asian sensibility to the interiors, elevating the guest experience, and building a close partnership with the Maasai and Samburu owners of the land.

Their passion for Africa and conservation was ignited several years ago when they took a sabbatical year to travel the back roads of Africa with their two sons, aged 13 and 11 at the time (visit their blog: www.planetb612.com). They currently share their time between Singapore and Kenya.
