An artist, scholar and collector, Allison captured the world's imagination with her contemporary take on traditional shan shui (mountain and sea) painting, using the media of ink and mineral pigment on paper. A stylish Chinese painting that dates back to the 6th century, shan shui is famous for employing a different perspective. Instead of being art for the eyes, shan shui is an object for the mind to ponder.
Allison continues her exploring of shan shui in extensive formats developing further of the Alienation series at the Club in 2022, a decon and reconstructed shan shui structure. She created more works with oil and mixed media on canvas to explore the boundary of the abstract expression and a visual enrichment. Her creations are rich in colors.
Collectors from all over the world including Southeast Asia, China, Europe, Australia, Canada and USA, have acquired her art.
Allison has authored numerous publications on her research on Asian art masters such as Lim Hak Tai, Chen Wen Hsi, Cheong Soo Pieng and Liu Kuo-Sung. She is also a distinguished speaker at various universi- ties, banks and government bodies in Singapore and China.
