Dear Fellow Members,
As we see the summer months approaching over the horizon, we hope everyone had a blessed Hari Raya Puasa and enjoys the upcoming Hari Raya Haji with their family and friends. As I reflect on my many years of living in the Middle East and working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, please let me, on behalf of our Club family, extend a heartfelt Eid Mubarak to all!
Summer for me is special. My wife and I had a mild disagreement because I wanted to get married on the 4th of July (largely so I would not forget our anniversary), and she wanted to get married on the 3rd as to not have to “share” our day with America’s Independence Day. On hindsight, supporting her was a great idea because now I get to celebrate more things, on more days!
While some might be traveling during the summer break to see family and friends outside of Singapore, the Club is busy planning various events and activities to ensure those who remain here will have no shortage of things to enjoy. One of the benefits of living in our Little Red Dot of a country just 85 miles north of the equator is that we enjoy “summer” weather all year long! I am looking forward to the Club’s 4th of July celebration and other various events, and look forward to seeing everyone at the Club.
Lastly, we are also optimistic that we will be welcoming a new General Manager (GM) this summer. The General Committee is laser focused currently on our most important responsibility – finding the best General Manager possible to lead our Club. Given the inherent sensitivities involved in making such a decision, which includes respecting the privacy of the remaining GM candidates, we appreciate everyone’s patience in waiting for any official announcement on the topic.
Respectfully,
Adam
