From empowering communities to leading groundbreaking initiatives, women around the globe are making a profound impact by giving back. Let's honor their contributions and inspire others to do the same. Together, we can create a more equitable and inclusive world.
During this event, three speakers will discuss personal challenges they've encountered, their methods for overcoming them, and their involvement in advancing gender equality. They'll also share how they've inspired and supported other women in similar pursuits.
Complimentary event for The American Club and the American Women's Association of Singapore (AWA) Members. Club Members are encouraged to invite their AWA friends to the event.

About the Speakers
Corinna Lim
Executive Director of the Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE)
As a dedicated women's rights activist, Corinna has been an advocate for issues such as the promotion of gender-equal workplaces, the addressing of gender-based violence, and the provision of greater support for single parents and lower-income women.
In addition to her advocacy work, she spearheaded the establishment of the Sexual Assault Care Centre at AWARE in 2011.
Corinna has a Masters in Public Administration from Columbia University and is a Fulbright Scholar. She graduated with an LLB from the National University of Singapore and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1988.
So-Young Kang
Founder of Gnowbe
So-Young Kang, Founder of Gnowbe, Author, Blogger, and Global Speaker, is a pioneering entrepreneur and our esteemed founding member. Her focus on maximizing human potential led to the founding of Gnowbe, a mobile-first, micro-learning solution spun out from Awaken Group. A Young Global Leader nominee by the World Economic Forum in 2014, So-Young's impactful voice resonates on prestigious stages worldwide, complemented by her passion for sharing ideas through writing and videos, evident in her book "Inside Out."
Hester Spiegel
Founding Partner, Epic Angels | Venture Partner, Kaizenvest | Author of State of EdTech in SE Asia | Founder, 42-schools for Germany
Hester is an entrepreneur, investor, and advisor known for providing valuable insights from the tech entrepreneur world to help others stay relevant. Originally from the Netherlands, with a Master of Science in Economics from the Vrije Universiteit, Hester's 15-year career spans management consulting at firms like PriceWaterhouseCoopers and as a Director at Deutsche Bank. In 2019, Hester transitioned to entrepreneurship, founding two tech-enabled education campuses in Germany, raising SGD35 million. Since 2020, Hester has been active in Southeast Asia's startup scene, co-founding Epic Angels and serving as Venture Partner at Kaizenvest. Hester is also an accredited IBF trainer, supporting corporate leaders in navigating the digital landscape.
