Winter this year looks light, bubbly and pink at The American Club. It’s almost like hearing the effervescent pop of a Prosecco Rose to signal the holidays. Amidst this novelty, many things remain the same – Santa’s chair by the staircase, Tree Lighting with Choir performance on Thursday, December 5 and warm greetings exchanged between Members and Club employees.
The American Club Members and global citizens, Shaun and Alison share their Christmas traditions – a unique blend of American, German and British cultures. Click here to read about their Christmas traditions, centered around their multi-cultural upbringing and love of food. Shaun shares a Sausage Roll recipe from his British roots, while Alison lets us in on her Christmas Lamb recipe and home decorating tips that make every Christmas feel like home, wherever in the world they may be celebrating it.
If you’re traveling stateside for the holidays, consider a visit to The New York Athletic Club. Experience its superb athletic facilities – fencing, wrestling, boxing, judo and other popular martial arts found their place at this wonderful athletic club. On top of that, a fantastic dining experience awaits whether you’re looking for a decadent gourmet dinner, tapas or a good old Manhattan cocktail, you will find it here. Don’t forget to request for your Letter of Introduction at the Concierge Desk, two weeks before you travel.
Mark your calendars for the Merry Marketplace on Sunday, December 1, a food and wine (and many more) Christmas bazaar that has everything you need for your holiday celebrations. Wines from the old and new world plus decadent fine food like caviar, cheeses, salad kits, chocolates, fresh produce, even homeware – we have everything you need to craft the perfect holiday table.
Welcome 2025 with an out of the common New Year’s Eve theme – Americana style! Ring in the New Year on Tuesday, December 31 in your denim overalls in a fairground atmosphere and win a prize or two with a ring toss in one hand and funnel cake on the other. We’ll bring the nostalgia and entertaining live music and you bring your enthusiasm and party mood until the midnight countdown.
Kids need not miss midnight celebrations as they can join the New Year’s Eve Balloon Drop @ The Quad. Children of all ages can end the year on a high note and write their New Year’s resolutions on balloons and watch them descend from above at 12:00 p.m. sharp. Make sure you make it early to enjoy the full festivities.
Whether you’re celebrating at the Club or at home, or thinking about loved ones back at home, what truly matters is that love and peace reign in our hearts.
