Martin Rudden
General Manager

 

Martin was appointed General Manager (GM) in early 2012, and has been with The Club for almost 15 years. Prior to the GM role, he was in several Senior Management positions including 4 years as Co-Assistant GM. In 2014, Martin was proud to collect on behalf of The Club two significant awards highlighting a commitment to innovation, improved productivity and tripartite industry relations. The awards being: The May Day Medal of Commendation (presented by The National Trades Union Congress) and The Age Management Distinction Award (presented by the Singapore National Employers Association).
 
Martin is on the Advisory Council for the Asia Pacific Chapter of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA). He also sits on the Industry Advisory Committee for Singapore Institute of Technology’s (SIT) Bachelor degree program in Hospitality, and is an active member in the Club Managers Association of Singapore (CMAS).
 
Martin completed his Business degree in Economics and Marketing at Swinburne University in Melbourne, Australia. His passion for tennis led to his seat on The Board of The Singapore Tennis Association since 2011, and he and his family consider Singapore home.

Patricia Au
Co-Assistant General Manager

 

Patricia has been with the Club since 2003. She has close to 20 years of work experience in the private Club industry in Singapore, having previously been part of the pre-opening/set up and management team at the Tower Club. While her background was originally in Finance, her experience over the years has extended to other back of house areas like IT, Payroll, Purchasing, Cost Control and Store operations, as well as Member Services like Membership sales, the Library, Jackpot and merchandise operations.

 

Patricia served as the Honorary Secretary of the Hospitality Association for Finance and Technology Professionals from 2007 to 2011. She is an active member of the Club Managers Association of Singapore.

Vijayakumar Raj (Vijay) 

Co-Assistant General Manager

 

Vijay has a depth of knowledge within luxury hotels and private city clubs. He is over 20 years of rich experiences in the hospitality industry with an expertise in high-volume, large scale operations. He has a M.S. degree in Hospitality Administration from Johnson & Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island and an advanced certification in revenue management, marketing and foodservice management from Cornell University, New York.  

 

Vijay had been with The University Club of Washington, DC since 2008 where he was the Assistant GM. This Club is one of the truly historic membership organizations in the United States. His member experiences have been with an impressive list of “Who’s Who”, and like TAC, they are bonded by their intellectual, sports and cultural pursuits. In his spare time he loves travelling, watching sports and volunteering in community out-reach programs.

Tan Lee Lee
Senior Director of People Development

 

Lee Lee, who has been with The Club since 1994, is trained in Human Resource Management. She oversees and manages all aspects of human resource policies and programs, which include compensation and benefits, performance management, welfare, learning and development for The Club’s staff. We all know that our staff, more so than any other assets, is what makes The Club shine.
 
Through her direction and guidance, The Club boasts a line of outstanding staff programs that rival the best and she and her team have helped The Club achieve many certifications and awards including the People Developer Standard (PDS), Age Management Distinction Award (2014), and a Medal of Commendation Award from the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) in May of this year. 
 
Even though Lee Lee has her hands full from day to day HR matters at The Club, she still makes time to be active as a Business Excellence Assessor under the Spring Singapore Business Excellence (BE) Program. Since her appointment to this role in 2010, Lee Lee has deliberately sought out opportunities to learn about good practices of other leading organizations and how they address the challenges they face in their business. These learnable moments helped The Club chart a steady course in a highly competitive industry and maintain a staff retention rate that is the envy of others. Lee Lee has also served as a judge since 2011 for the annual Singapore HR Award and Singapore HR Challenge for Singapore Human Resource Institute (SHRI), and is a member of both the Club Managers’ Association of Singapore and the Singapore HR Institute (SHRI).

Tang Teck Wah

Senior Director of Facilities & Security

 

Tang joined the Senior Management Team in January 2008. He comes to us with a wealth of experience in managing diverse teams in the areas of Information Technology and Telecommunications Infrastructure, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, Events and Logistics, and site operations.

 

His experience also covers project management from concept to final delivery, ranging from interior fit-out projects to construction of new buildings. He spent 8 years in one of the leading private international schools managing its daily operations as well as overseeing its phased reconstruction program. His passion in the field of physical security also saw him take on the role of a commercial security consultant.   

 

Since 2011, Tang has been on the Ministry of Manpower Workplace Safety & Health Council’s Committee for the Hospitality and Entertainment Industries. He is also a member of the Workforce Development Agency’s Workplace Safety & Health Skills Council. In addition, he is an Honorary Management Committee member of The American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Singapore Chapter, serving as its Placement Sub Committee Chair. In his tenure as the Chairperson of the Claymore Cluster Safety & Security Watch Group (SSWG) comprising 14 neighboring commercial buildings, he led the Cluster in organizing joint emergency response exercises, and has been a winner of the Outstanding SSWG Cluster Awards for consecutive years.

 

Tang is also trained in Mechanical Engineering and Business Information Systems and Technology, with Post Graduate studies in Information Security & Intelligence. He is also a certified practitioner and lead auditor for the Singapore Standards in Business Continuity Management, and a certified Fire Safety Manager.

Su-ann Khor
Senior Director of Club Services

 

Su-ann comes to us with over 20 years of extensive experience in spa operations and the leisure industry, and hence understands the discerning needs of the spa clientele. Su-Ann began her career as a therapist after graduating with CIDESCO, ITEC and CIBTAC Diplomas.
 
From late 2002 until early 2007, Su-ann was instrumental in developing our current spa facility and growing the business. From there she spent the next three years in key leisure management positions for the pre-and post-opening of three casinos/hotels in Macau including the integrated resort, City of Dreams. 
 
After the stint in Macau, Su-ann rejoined The Club in April 2010 as our Fitness & Leisure Director overseeing the Gym, Tennis, Aquatics, Squash, Golf and Lifestyle, where she delivered some wonderful results. In September 2012, Su-ann took on the portfolios of Director of Club Services which includes Youth, Spa, Essentials, Energy, Fine Arts and the Travel Desk.

Malik Riley
Director of Food & Beverage

 

Chef Malik joined The Club as our Executive Chef in 2012 having moved from Houston, Texas; he quickly settled in and began working with our team and making improvements throughout The Club. No sooner had he settled in, when the Director of Food and Beverage role opened up for him. Malik’s overall responsibility as Director is ensuring the restaurants run well from both the front service end and the back culinary end. Managing staff, hygiene and food preparation standards, and service are his core duties. His financial duties would include forecasting, budgeting, and labor analysis. And it doesn’t stop here. Malik also oversees liquor inventory, new menu launches, premium wine events and other ongoing responsibilities. Last but not least, Chef Malik also works very closely with the Social & Dining Committee to ensure a sensational dining experience for Members and guests alike.
 
Chef Malik brings with him 20 years of extensive theoretical and practical training in the hospitality industry. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree, major in Culinary Arts, from the Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then went on to complete a Master’s degree in Hospitality Management from the prominent University of Houston Conrad N. Hilton College of Hospitality and Restaurant Management in Texas, garnering the coveted Dean’s Award. 
 
Chef Malik’s prolific culinary career includes holding an illustrious position as Executive Chef for the United States Embassy in the Bahamas; as Executive Sous Chef for Houston’s biggest convention hotel; and prior to joining The Club, as Executive Chef for a distinguished hotel in the upscale Houston Galleria area. Chef Malik is a member of the American Culinary Federation, as well as the Houston Culinary Foundation.

Randy Simon

Director of Fitness & Leisure

 

Randy joined The Club in June 2016, bringing with him 30 years of sports management and coaching experience.

 

A native of Columbus, Ohio, he spent 16 years in service to the US as a member of the US Marines, Air Force, and Mississippi and Wisconsin Air National Guards. The highlight of his military career was his stint as a Maintenance Operations Controller with the U.S.A.F, where he coordinated the maintenance activities for twenty-six F-16 aircrafts.

 

Randy has coached in swimming at every level from learn-to-swim to university, and has produced champions at each level. In his most recent position in Cairo, Egypt, he served as General Manager for one of the largest Aquatics programs in the world, overseeing over 16,000 swimmers and a diverse team of more than 400 coaches and administrative staff across 5 locations.

Angie Ng

Director of Finance

 

Angie was with The Club briefly in 2014/2015 in the same capacity and is excited to be back.

 

As Director of Finance, Angie has oversight responsibility for Accounts, Store, Payroll, Purchasing and IT, supported by our capable Assistant Director of Finance, Carryn.

 

Angie has many years of Finance experience, having held Finance leadership roles in the hospitality, retail and service industries, including listed companies and regional roles. Angie’s previous employers include IKANO Pte Ltd (franchisee of IKEA), Park Hotel Group, as well as CK Tang. Some of her major achievements include successfully assisting the Park Hotel Group to acquire 2 hotels in China and Japan, integrating IT systems for newly acquired properties and providing financial direction and securing favourable refinancing options to help CK Tang get back on track financially.
