What level is my child in if I am a new swimmer?
To ensure your child is placed in a class that best suits their needs, you will need to book a free assessment for every child over 3 years of age by calling Aquatics at 6739-4450 or 6739-4470 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Babies and Toddlers do not require an assessment as levels are age based.
Can I enroll after the term has started?
Yes, you can enroll your child in the program at any point in time. Classes are just subject to availability. Please submit an enrolment form found at the Aquatics Counter and we will email you within 5 working days.
When will my child move to the next level?
There is no set time that a child is to stay in a level. Once a instructor feels their swimmer can confidently complete all the skills needed in each level without prompting than they will have them assessed by Elspeth our Aquatics Manager. Each Spring and Fall program also includes two assessment weeks in which relevant swimmers are assessed.
Will swimming lessons be held if it’s raining?
Swimming lessons will only not be held if there is thunder/ lightning or extremely heavy rain. We will still continue to swim if there is light rain. Please call either the Aquatics Counter at 6739-4470 or the Aquatics office at 6739-4450 30 minutes before your class to find out if your class has been cancelled. Members will not be charged for classes cancelled by The Club.
I missed my class can I make it up?
Unfortunately due to the size of the program- nearly 900 swimmers per week and limited classes and teachers we cannot offer make up classes to all members enrolled in the Aquastars.
What if my child is sick?
If your child is sick please provide the Swim School with a Medical Certificate which covers the dates of the missed lesson/s. Please note a receipt of payment will not be accepted. The certificate must be received at the Aquatics Counter within a week of the original lesson, or before the end of the month.
Are guests able to enroll in the Starfish Swim School Program?
Guests are only allowed to enroll in the Aquastars program as well as any of the swimming camps. Terms and conditions apply. Please check with the Aquatics Department for further information.
How do I can permanently cancel my child out of the program?
All permanent cancellations must be submitted to the Aquatics Counter a minimum of two weeks (14 days) prior to the date of the last lesson you will be attending in writing either via email to email@example.com or by filling in the Starfish Swim School cancellation form.
